Coach Ben

Ben Chebot is a USATF Level 1 coach with over 20 years of competitive running experience and seven years of coaching experience. He has raced every distance from the mile to the 50K and has trained for track, road, trail, and mountain races. Ben is committed to helping all runners achieve their personal goals.

He began his running journey in 7th grade at Brown Middle School in Newton, and continued running as a member of the Newton North cross country and track and field teams. Ben was then recruited to run for Bates College, where he was an Academic All-American in cross country his senior year and helped his team capture 7th place at the National Championships.

Since then, Ben has raced extensively in mountain and trail races all over New England, completed several marathons and many local 5Ks.

He is a 7th grade science teacher in Waltham where he coaches middle school cross country as well as athletes through Ben Chebot Coaching. Other than running, Ben is an avid hiker, skier, and cook.

  • 4th place 2022 Runamuk 50K

  • 2nd place 2019 Blackout 10K (nighttime mountain race)

  • 16th place 2015 Reykjavik City Marathon

  • 1st place 2014 Lehigh Valley Marathon

  • Other finishes include Loon Mountain Race, Cranmore Mountain Race, TARC Blue Hills Skyline Run, and way too many local 5Ks.
